What is Dunk Day?
August 27th, right after service,we are having our first ever Dunk Day! Dunk Day is for kids from age 8 to 8th grade that would like to be baptized. If your child would like to participate in Dunk Day, please fill out the form linked below. After you submit the form someone will follow up with you with more information about what to expect. We encourage you to watch the video above with your child to ensure that they understand what baptism is and the significance of being baptized.
Is your child ready to be baptized?
If your child has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, then they are ready to be baptized. Baptism is a way of showing others that they have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus.
It symbolizes what took place in your child's heart at the time of salvation:
- They accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- They shared in his death and resurrection, illustrated through baptism by going under the water (dead to their old life), then rising again (new life).
- They were symbolically washed clean, and their sins were forgiven by his death on the cross.
Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God. We immerse because we believe Scripture shows that Jesus modeled that for us as the way to publicly acknowledge our faith in him.
Dunk Day is for 8 year olds to 8th graders. We'll have more baptism events soon for other ages!
